Cheryl Matschek, PhD: Health and Lifestyle

Heredity

Our genetic composition, received from our parents (and thus from our grandparents, great grandparents, etc.), determines who we are at birth. If a parent had heart problems, or any other organ of their body was weak, we may tend to have similar problems. We know that a history of weakness in the family often means we should take extra care of our health regarding that weakness. Although individual factors are given by God, to a great extent it is what we do and how we live that will determine our health. Iridology is a fascinating art and science that can often help us identify areas of weakness often before it manifests symptoms.

How we eat and drink

Most everyone would agree somewhat with the statement, "We are what we eat." Although heredity plays a part in our health, it is not the only factor, and even if there is a major concern of inheritance from a parent, it is not necessarily inevitable that we manifest the same major concern ourselves.

How we eat is a significant part of our health. By eating the food God provided, we strengthen the organs of the body and provide our physical structure with the nutrients that are needed. In individual sessions, or workshops and seminars, Dr. Cheryl Matschek discusses this topic at length. When we eat what our body needs, it is translated into healing, energy, vigor and fullness of life. Just as the kind of food we eat is important, so is what we drink. Alcohol, soft drinks, caffeinated beverages, drinks made from dairy products...each of these are unhealthy for our body system. What we need more of is pure water and juices made from fresh vegetables and fruits.

What are God given foods? They are natural foods including fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts and grains. Natural foods strengthen the body, nourish weak organs, and help eliminate waste matter from the body. And most important, they cleanse and purify the blood. Today the American diet is made up mostly of everything but these foods. Instead, they are high in fat, low in fiber, high in processed foods, and low in natural foods.

Whether you are concerned about a particular weakness or illness, excess weight or low energy, perhaps a consultation with Cheryl is the place to start. Below, you'll find several ways to contact her.

How we think and feel

Our minds are incredible and they play such a significant part in our overall health. It has been said that every word you say is communicated to the body...and the physical body actually responds. Tell yourself long enough that you are sick, and you can actually become sick. The real question is, perhaps, "How much do we want to be well...not only disease-free, but truly in a good state of health?" That means comfortable, without pain, energetic, enthusiastic and full of life. We, by ourselves and with God's help, can improve our health...even the hereditary factors. When we eat proper food, keep the body clean (inside and out) and get enough exercise we can be much healthier. In fact, most people can turn around ill health and regain their strength. Our good health requires a commitment of our attitude, our desire and our thinking.

How we live

Just as our health is determined by heredity, what we eat, what we drink and how we think and feel, so too is it impacted by our lifestyle. Everything we do has its effect on our health. Are you getting enough exercise? Do you breath completely....fully? Do you take time out to relax and renew or are you always on the run? Do you refrain from things that will drain your health, energy and vitality like drugs (legal or illegal), smoking, excess drinking, pushing yourself too hard, never taking a break......etc.? Do you often feel stressed? Are you getting enough sleep?

Cheryl understands that an individual cannot achieve maximum effectiveness or results when health is impaired. As a Doctor of Natural Health, Master Herbalist, Clinical Nutritionist and Iridologist, Cheryl brings great wisdom, insight and practical knowledge to individuals and groups who desire to improve their health naturally, thereby improving their ability to perform at the highest level.

Many, many people today complain of low energy, inability to focus or concentrate, and aches and pains that keep them from performing at their best, or simply having a continual round of colds or flu. General health and well-being is obtained by our lifestyle: what we eat, what we drink, how we think and feel, how we exercise, and whether or not we get enough rest. It is short-sightedness that suggests we can simply "take a pill and fix it."

Perhaps you'd like to raise the level of "health awareness" of yourself or your work group and help them to help themselves.... If so, consider Cheryl for a meaningful, information packed seminar or individual personal session.
